Objective: This drill will provide greater insight into practical marksmanship potential with smaller handguns commonly utilized for discreet carry. Either a snub revolver or small pistol may be utilized.

Target: B8 Center

Distance: 5 yards

Rounds Needed: 10

Begin Exercise: Handgun loaded with 5 rounds only. Speedloader or spare magazine containing at least 5 additional rounds on the belt. Come to a muzzle depressed position with the gun in the support hand. On the signal, fire 2 shots support hand only, 3 shots strong hand only, RELOAD and fire 5 shots using a two hand hold. End of exercise.

Par Time: Snub revolver, 20 seconds operator level & 15 seconds master level. Pocket pistols/small single stacks, 15 seconds operator level & 10 seconds master level

Scoring: Point value (10 hits in the 10 ring equals 100 points). Can you scratch out a 90%? Keep all your hits in the black?  Ten points will be deducted from the score for each overtime shot. For maximum value, this drill should be shot COLD.

Instructor Notes: This drill could also be shot with compact or service-size handguns. But in order to keep it challenging increase the distance, reduce the time frame and draw from concealment. It’s not supposed to be easy!
