From time to time, in workshop classes and on the range, new(ish) shooters with new loading strips will make note the their loading strips (notable those fresh from the package) TUFF QUICK Strips are a little too stiff to fit the spare ammo or dummy ammo into easily. While not an ideal filling tip on the range, there is a quick tip when your at home learning to optimize your reloading skills with loading strip and you find that the strip is a little too stiff for your purposes. Add a little water into the sockets of the strip (face up) and place the water filled strip into the microwave for 15 or 20 seconds. The now warm to very warm water will soften the strip enough to make inserting the rounds into the sockets easy, or at least, easier. Don’t overdo the warming time because you don’t want to “cook” the strip. In a pinch, you can add a step and heat the water in a cup and add then add the strip to the water. Either will work.
