Objective- This drill is designed to provide the user with feedback relative to their practical marksmanship potential when firing a small handgun (snub revolver, pocket pistol, single stack micro pistol). Use of cover and reload efficiency will also be assessed.

Target- IPSC, IDPA or any humanoid target with a realistic size high value scoring area. Paper plates and index cards may be used to create high value areas.

Set Up- Two targets, arms width apart. High cover will be positioned at 7 yards with additional high cover at 5 yards.

Round Count- 10 rounds total. Begin with fully loaded revolver and a loaded speedloader/speedstrip. Pistols will begin with a total of 5 rounds in the gun and a spare magazine containing 5 rounds.

Begin Exercise- Shooter begins at the 10 yard line, On the signal, draw from concealment and fire 1 shot at T1. Move to cover and fire 2 shots at T2, 2 shots at T1 and 1 head shot at T2. RELOAD as necessary. Move to better cover at the 5 yard line and fire 1 body shot and 1 head shot at T1. INJURY! Transition the handgun to the weak hand and fire 2 shots on T2. The shooter will fire the last shots weak hand only. END of exercise.

Scoring- This drill was designed for self-evaluation.  If you can get this done in 30 seconds (20 for pistols) or less with good hits, go to the head of the class!  A time penalty can be added for any hits outside the high value area. A clean, efficient reload is the key to success.
