This week’s de-coder puzzle comes from our good friend Jerry Amstutz.
Jerry shares with us the following:
When I was an MP in the US Army in Frankfort during the early 1980’s, I was dispatched to an assault upon a young lieutenant that had just recently arrived in country that had taken place in a downtown hotel bar. He told me the following story:
“I was sitting at a table in the bar when a young German lady came and asked me if I would like to join her up in her room for a good time. I agreed, and she said she lived on the second floor, the first room on the left side of the stairs. I went to the toilet and she went up to her room. When I went upstairs and let myself into the room, a large man punched me in the face and knocked me down. I thought he was stealing my money so I swung back at him and missed. He struck me again and when I woke up the Polizei (German police) were here. I tried to tell them what I believed to be taking place, but my money was in my wallet and they just laughed at me.”
Who was telling the truth? What was actually happening?
