EZ-Qualifier – What is it?

Snub Noir is a snub revolver shooters association, for testing, researching, and perpetuating the classic gun handling skills associated with the short barrel snub made most famous from the 1920’s to the 1970’s.

Part of that our charter is to research and record the reloading skills most associated with the various classic reloading tools, notably spill pouches, loop ammo carriers, 2x2x2 pouches, loading strips, speed loaders, New York reloads, and the small caliber BUG.

Both our local and off-site snub matches feature five to seven shooting stages, with each stage requiring a distinct reloading tool used once -only per match. SubsequentlyTo help plan and design these matches, we gather reloading speed information from five notable reloading systems, and their individual reloading speeds when adding one to five rounds from that tool against a given target size and at a standardized target distance.

Information collected from these “qualifier” drills help us design interesting and challenging match drills which we share with shooters participating across the country, and in some cases, outside the country. The simplified initial EZ Qualifier drill is easy to shoot and requires only five rounds, and requires a target sheet measuring 2-foot x 3-foot, (or 23-inch x 34-inch if you are using an “official” supplied Snub Noir target) and set at 7-yards form yards from the shooter.
