An “old school” test for snub revolvers

Objective: This course is designed to measure marksmanship potential with a snub revolver.

Rounds Needed: 30

Target: Two silhouettes with a realistic size, high value scoring area

Begin Exercise: Load with at least 5 rounds and come to a low ready position. Par time for all phases is 10 seconds.

Phase One @ 3yards- FREESTYLE, 2 shots left target, 2 shots right target, I head shot left target

Phase Two @ 3 yards- STRONG HAND ONLY, 2 shots right target, 2 shots left target, 1 head shot right target

Phase Three @ 3 yards- WEAK HAND ONLY, 2 shots left target, 2 shots right target, 1 head shot left target

Phase Four @ 7 yards- FREESTYLE, 2 shots left target, 3 shots right target

Phase Five @ 7 yards- FREESTYLE, 2 shots right target, 3 shots left target

Phase Six @ 7 yards- STRONG HAND ONLY, 2 shots left target, 2 shots right target, 1 head shot left target

Scoring:  10 points for hits in high value area, 2 points for hits on the target outside the high value area, The shooter needs to score a minimum of 240 points (80%) in order to pass.

Variations: a) Draw from the holster on Phases 1,2,4,5

  1. b) Cut par time to 6 seconds
  2. c) For a greater challenge, draw and reduce the time!
