Original idea from Mile Waidelich, Bakersfield PD

Objective: This drill is designed to assess practical marksmanship potential with the handgun when firing from typical combat distance.

Rounds Needed: 10

Target: Any target with a realistic size high value area may be used. Small paper plates or stencils may be used to create a high value zone on any target.

Begin Exercise: Begin all phases with the handgun secured in the holster. Hand off the gun!

Phase One @ 3yards- Draw & fire 2 shot in 1.5 seconds.

Phase Two @ 7 yards- Draw & fire 2 shots in 2 seconds.

Phase Three @ 10 yards- Begin with 2 rounds total in the gun. Draw & fire 2 shots, RELOAD and fire 2 more in 7 seconds.

Phase Four @ 20 yards- Draw & fire 2 rounds in 4 seconds

Scoring: This is a very challenging test! Hits in high value area are worth 10 points. On the target but outside the high value area yield a value of 5 points. Two point deduction for overtime of 1 second or less. Four points for overtime greater than 1 second. A minimum of 80 points is required for satisfactory performance.

Instructor Notes: Pistols, initially load 6 round magazine into the gun, at least 4 rounds on the belt.
