Objective: This self-assessment drill is designed so that the shooter can better evaluate their ability to make surgical hits with the handgun. Both open end and compressed time frames will be utilized in this exercise.
Target: Six 2 inch circles
Distance: 3 yards
Ammunition Requirement: Varies
Begin Exercise: All phases begin with the handgun in a secure holster. On the signal the shooter will draw and fire:
Circle #1- Singles, open end (at least 6 reps)
Circle #2- Singles, 4 second par (at least 3 reps)
Circle #3- Singles, 2 second par (at least 3 reps)
Circle #4- Pairs, open end (at least 3 reps)
Circle #5- Pairs, 3 second par (at least 3 reps)
Circle #6- Triplet, 3 second par (at least 2 reps)

Evaluation: How do the hits look? How did a specified par time impact hit potential? Too easy? Try drawing the handgun from under a covering garment or move back to 5 yards.
