Objective: This drill was designed to measure shooter efficiency and marksmanship potential with a snub nose revolver or pocket pistol.
Targets: Two humanoid targets with a realistic size high value scoring area (IPSC, IDPA, etc.). Paper plates or overlays can be used to create a high value area on any target. T1 will be directly in front of the shooter and T2 will be set 3 feet to the right.
Rounds needed: 6
Range prop: Cone at 7 yards, High cover at 5 yards
Begin Exercise: The shooter will be at the 10 yard line. A handgun loaded with 6 rounds will be contained in a holster concealed from view. On the signal, quickly move to the 7 yard line and fire 2 shots on T1. Move to high cover and fire 2 shots on T2. Fire 1 head shot and T1 and 1 head shot on T2. End of exercise.
Scoring: Hits in the high value area and head are worth 10 points (60 points MAX). Hits on the target but outside the high value area have a value of 5 points. Shots off the target including the head, will result in a no-go. Total point value divided by time equals score. A total of 60 points in 10 seconds would yield a score of 6 while 60 points in 20 seconds equates to 3. A bigger number is better than a smaller number!
Variations: 5 shot guns, only 1 body shot on T2.
