A Training Exercise for Pistol or Carbine- low light, summer ‘23

Objective: While moving, the shooter will have to discriminate between shoot and don’t shoot targets and fire with surgical precision.

Targets: At least 4 negative IPSC targets (T1-T4) with the A-zone cut away. Targets will be set in a row and separated by at least 8 feet. At least 4 white IPSC “innocent bystander” targets will be set in a row 2 yards forward of the hostile targets. No shoots (NS1-NS4) will be slightly offset to partially obscure the hostile targets.

Distance: 7 yards

Ammunition Needed: @25 rounds

Begin Exercise: Shooter will begin at the far left end of the target array and face right. A fully loaded handgun will be contained in the holster. On the command, the shooter will begin walking toward the right. The instructor will designate a target by calling out a number, letter or color. The shooter will stop, pivot and engage that target with a non-standard response (2-5 shots). Reholster when safe and continue walking. When the shooter reached the far right of the target array, turn around and walk back in the other direction. When there is a need to reload, move to cover to accomplish that task! Continue until the shooter has expended at least 20 rounds.

Scoring: This is not a scored exercise but hits matter. Critique after each shooter and paste hits outside of the high value area or on the “innocent bystanders”
