Like many folks, I do most of my shooting these days on commercial ranges, both indoor and outdoor. We know that most of these ranges have to operate on the theory of the “Lowest Common Denominator” for safety reasons. All you can really do is bang away at fixed targets from 5-25 yards (primarily), and there’s no drawing from holsters or other tactical techniques you need to train in.

I have come up with an idea that lets you do the training you need in your own backyard, hallway of your house or garage. I recently acquired a Crosman SNR357 C0-2, BB/.177 caliber pellet revolver. It is virtually the same size as a S&W Model 19 w/ a 2-1/2″ barrel, and operates identically. Realistic-looking cartridges hold the pellet or BB, and these cartridges fit in K-frame speed-loaders or speed-strips. It will also fit in the same holsters as a Model 19. Velocity is about 400 FPS, so it punches paper targets easily and you can use the all-lead pellets on steel targets.

With this CO-2 revolver you can practice your draw, close-quarter shooting, move and shoot, plus many other things you can do at commercial ranges.
